StageOne is a Christian Drama Co-operative and we serve all the churches and other groups in Folkestone and surrounding areas of Kent.
StageOne meet every Tuesday for a drama themed workshop where we teach each other, and occasionally bring in others, to help and inspire us in core drama skills, comedy, play writing and readings, improvisation, singing and music, poetry and even a bit of opera and Shakespeare. We are willing to try almost anything!
StageOne was formed in 2004, following a number of productions undertaken across a number of Churches, and a desire to bring these skills to a common group and purpose. StageOne currently aims to undertake one large-scale production each year, alongside a variety of smaller events and commissions. Up until 2008 we undertook an “Annual Revue” and from 2009 on we have undertaken a full-scale production, in the February half-term week of each year.
StageOne is a small amateur dramatics group, with enthusiastic members, who wish to get involved with new projects and commissions. However, we are not full time actors and we do this for enjoyment as a hobby; our ability to undertake projects does, sadly, have to be considered against our own work, Church and other commitments.
