Meet the cast from Aladdin
The star of the show! Shelley is back again! Shelley has taken part in as variety of performances since the beginnings of StageOne including a part in Britanicus, the part of King Saul, and others.
This year Shelley takes on the role of Alladin, our innocent hero. Charming and good looking and also rather naïve. But he falls instantly in love with Princess Jasmine.
Princess Jasmine - Sue RoeSue Roe has taken part in a variety of performances as part of StageOne including King Saul. Sue directed the StageOne production of "Treasure Island" in 2009.
The following year Sue played Obidiah Bobblenob in the Stage One production of "The Thwarting Of Baron Bolligrew". As well as playing the part of Alice's sister in "Alice In Wonderland", she took on the part of the cook, and producing the Stage One performance of "Alice In Wonderland". A lot of work!!
This year Sue takes the role of Princess Jasmine, the beautiful princess. Falls swooningly in love with Aladdin. Fed up with the Emperor not letting her meet normal people, so takes the chance to avoid his rules whenever possible but going in disguise.
Abanazer - Adam GrannellThis is Adam's first major leading role with StageOne and has been looking forward to going over the darkside and play a villian.
Adam was on the pirate crew and a fellow cast away in the StageOne production of "Treasure Island". The following year, Adam took his first leading role as Sir Graceless Strongbody in the Stage One production of "The Thwarting Of Baron Bolligrew" and was the best dressed knight on stage if anyone remembers the amount of body armour Adam wore. In the same performance Adam doubled as a peasant. Lots of very quick costume changes!!
In Feburay 2011 Adam played the March Hare in the StageOne production of "Alice In Wonderland" and throughly enjoyed the role.
This year Adam returns with a vengence to take on the role of Abanazer, the panto villain with world domination on his mind, and in typical villian style monologues continuously. He is devious, cunning, nasty, manipulative, and hated by small children.
The Genie - Wayne Quigley
This is Waynes first leading role with Stage One. In February 2011 Wayne and his daughter Kacey performed in the StageOne production of "Alice in Wonderland" and throughly enjoyed themselves. Kacey made a brilliant and cute Bill The Lizard, and Wayne equally making a great Mouse.
This year Wayne takes on the role of the Genie. A real ‘cool-cat’ character. Steals every scene he appears in - the kind of person everyone secretly wants to be.
Flung Dung - Malcolm RobertsonMalcolm is a very talented member of StageOne. Both master of voice and accents. Malcolm will probably be best remembered for his excellent performance of the mysterious and cunning Dr Moloch in the Stage One production of "The Thwarting Of Baron Bolligrew".
Malcolm was the producer of the 2009 Stage One production of "Treasure Island".
In February 2011 Malcolm played the King of Hearts in the StageOne production of "Alice In Wonderland".
This year Malcolm takes on the role of Flung Dung, our intrepid chief of the Peking Police. Well meaning, albeit slightly jobs-worth, but a bit dim and easily distracted. Gets beaten up by invisible ninjas a lot and has to endure Widow Twankey’s approaches!
Widow Twankey - Roger SmithRoger has taken part in as variety of performances since the beginnings of StageOne including a part in Britanicus, the part of King Saul, and the part as Mother / Dame in the Stage One production of "Treasure Island" in 2009.
The following year Roger took the part of The Duke in StageOne production of "The Thwarting Of Baron Bolligrew".
In February 2011 Roger played the Duchess in the StageOne production of "Alice In Wonderland".
This year Roger takes on the role of Widow Twankey, our pneto dame. A larger than life character, rather matriarchal. Wishee Washee is often rude about her. Rather man obsessed too.
Wishee Washee - Jack ByrneThis is Jack's third performance with StageOne. Jack first performed in the Stage One production of "The Thwarting Of Baron Bolligrew" as the Corporal, and a tall menacing one at that. Jack thoroughly enjoyed himself so came back for more. In February 2011 Jack retruned and played two roles, but not at the same time, in the StageOne production of "Alice In Wonderland". He played the role of the Executioner, and the Card No 2 from the painting the roses in the garden scene.
This years Jack is back again and takes on the role of Wishee Washee, the brother of Aladdin and son of Widow Twankey. Never been kissed and desperate to be! Character is a bit ‘dumb’/’selfish’, but in a nice way. Tries it on (unsuccessfully) with all females possible.
Hankey Pankey - Dana Robinson This will be Dana's second performance with StageOne. Dana first performed with StageOne is "Treasure Island" back in 2009 as a member of the pirate crew, and as as one of the cast away's. In February 2011 Dana plasyed tow roles, but not at the same time, in the StageOne prouduction of "Alice In Wonderland". Dana played the Owl and and the Card No 7 from the painting the roses in the garden scene.
This year Dana returns and takes on the role of the girl Hankey Pankey, walk on cameo type role who falls for one of Wishee Washee's attempts to get kissed.
The Slave of The Ring - Eve Neilly Eve has lots of experience of stage performances and this role will be Eve's first role will StageOne. Eve will take on the role of The Slave of The Ring who helps tell the story, can grant the ring bearer but only one wish. But will she ever be free from the Ring?
